About

Three enduring gaps in India's growth story.

Lovefrom Foundation is a registered not-for-profit Section 8 company based in India. Our work sits at the intersection of three enduring gaps in India's growth story: the formal economy that millions of working women remain outside of, the employment infrastructure that hasn't kept pace with India's workforce, and the legal system that remains out of reach for those who need it most.

We build practical, ground-level programmes — and back them with published research, government and institutional engagement, and international partnerships — so that what we learn on the ground can shape policy, and what we learn in policy rooms can reach the ground.

Our Work

Three initiatives. One mission.

Each initiative operates independently on the ground, and reports into one shared body of research and policy engagement.

  • Active

    SHE Founders

A practical programme for women entrepreneurs — combining AI-tool literacy, climate-smart business training, and direct navigation of government schemes and funding access, to move India's informal women-led businesses into the formal economy.

  • In Development

    India Employment & Skilling

A broader initiative addressing India's employment and skilling ecosystem — connecting first-generation job seekers and small business owners to formal employment pathways, government skilling schemes, and the digital public infrastructure that underpins modern work.

  • Planned

    Education

A future initiative extending our economic empowerment work into foundational education access — planned for development once SHE Founders and India Employment & Skilling are established at scale.

Publications

A growing series of practical guides.

Books built from direct programme experience — for women entrepreneurs, first-generation founders, and India's employment ecosystem.

  • Forthcoming

    The SHE Founders Guide

A practical startup and formalisation guide for women and first-generation entrepreneurs in India.

  • Forthcoming

    Doing Business in India

An annually updated guide for founders, GCC and global entrepreneurs, and companies entering the Indian market.

  • In Development

    India at Work

A guide to India's employment and skilling ecosystem — how the workforce is changing, and how to access it.

  • In Development

    The Gateway

A guide to building businesses through the UAE as a global gateway — for founders from India, Africa, and beyond.

Vishal Shankla

Founder and Managing Director, Lovefrom Foundation

Fourteen years building and running a business taught me how much of India's real economic activity — and real talent — sits just outside the formal system, uncounted and unsupported. Lovefrom Foundation exists to close that gap: through direct programmes, honest data, and a seat in the rooms where the policy that shapes all of it gets made.
